Dubai is a city that rewards curiosity. Beyond its famous skyline and headline attractions, there’s another side to the city shaped by independent cafés, creative neighbourhoods, homegrown restaurants, and unexpected cultural finds. If you have just 48 hours, here’s how we’d spend them.
Day One: Coffee, Culture & Creativity
9:00 AM — Start slow at ONA Coffee ☕

Begin in Jumeirah with a proper morning coffee at ONA Coffee. The Australian specialty coffee name is the kind of place worth lingering over, making it an easy first stop before heading out to explore the city.
10:30 AM — Discover Sunset Mall & Les Marionnettes 🎭

Next, head to Sunset Mall, a quieter alternative to Dubai’s mega malls with an interesting mix of boutiques and local concepts. While you’re there, look out for Les Marionnettes, a charming puppet theatre that feels delightfully unexpected in the middle of Dubai. If you’re travelling with children, it’s an especially lovely addition to the itinerary.
12:30 PM — Spend the afternoon at Alserkal Avenue 🎨

From Jumeirah, make your way to Alserkal Avenue in Al Quoz. Once an industrial district, the neighbourhood has evolved into one of Dubai’s most interesting cultural destinations, filled with contemporary galleries, independent cafés, creative studios and Cinema Akil, the city’s much-loved arthouse cinema.

There’s no need to rush here. Wander between exhibitions, browse the latest creative concepts and see where the afternoon takes you.
3:30 PM — Something sweet at 21grams 🍰

Take a break at 21grams, a homegrown Balkan bistro that has become a Dubai favourite. Stop for coffee and something sweet before continuing into the evening.
5:00 PM — Step inside ARTE MUSEUM Dubai ✨

As the afternoon winds down, switch galleries for something altogether more immersive at ARTE MUSEUM Dubai. Light, sound, scent and enormous digital installations transform the space into a surreal sensory landscape — an impressive contrast to the industrial creativity of Alserkal earlier in the day.
Afterwards, keep the evening open. Dubai is at its best when there’s still room for a spontaneous dinner, sunset walk, or late-night coffee.
Day Two: Breakfast, VIEWS, & One of Dubai’s Best Bowls of Ramen
9:00 AM — Breakfast at Apricot Dubai 🥐

Start day two at homegrown Apricot Dubai, a relaxed spot for breakfast and coffee before another full day in the city. Take your time over breakfast with gorgeous views of Burj Khalifa, just a stone’s throw from Dubai Mall—today’s itinerary is less about covering ground and more about properly experiencing a few Dubai favourites.
1:00 PM — Lunch at Kinoya 🍜

For your lunch plans, make it Kinoya. What began with chef Neha Mishra’s hugely popular supper club grew into one of Dubai’s standout homegrown Japanese restaurants.
The atmosphere is intimate and unfussy, with ramen at the heart of the experience alongside izakaya-style dishes designed for sharing. It’s exactly the kind of place that sums up modern Dubai’s dining scene: independent, multicultural and very good at what it does.
The Dubai Worth Making Time For
In 48 hours, you’ll barely scratch the surface — and that’s part of the appeal. Between specialty coffee, independent art, immersive experiences, ambitious architecture and restaurants born right here in the city, this itinerary offers a glimpse of a Dubai that goes beyond the obvious.
Save this one for your next 48 hours in Dubai. 🇦🇪
