Trussardi is an Italian fashion house, founded in 1911, that has grown to international acclaim and is now based worldwide, with a store right here in Muscat at Panorama Mall.
What began as a leather glove manufacturer, has now dominated fashion shows globally and can be found in the wardrobes of the most discerning fashion aficionados.
The brand expanded its line to additional leather goods in the 1970s after Nicola Trussardi took over from his uncle and during the 1980s the company started production of ready-to-wear clothing, in addition to products including perfumes and jeans. By the 1990s Trussardi was selling internationally, with its largest markets in Italy and Japan. Today, Tomaso Trussardi is CEO, Gaia Trussardi is Creative Director, and Maria Luisa Trussardi is President of the Trussardi Group.

[metaslider id=6315]The store, is undoubtedly primped and preened, with sublime mood lighting and flattering mirrors. The visual merchandising is unlike any of the other brands most commonly found in Muscat. After all, we mainly succumb to high-street buys, for the lack of premium or luxury brands available to us and the current trend of disposable fashion. What might seem cool now, will be out-of-fashion by the time you’ve picked it up from the dry cleaners.
With all that said, there’s something very different about luxury pieces; they last. We have all-too-often heard of ‘timeless pieces’ and ‘designer staples’, which, in short, is true. Good, quality, well-produced pieces will stand the test of time, and fashion trends move in circles. “Never throw any good piece away” were the words of my great grandmother, and right she was.
Trussardi’s 2017 Autumn/Winter collection screams elegance. Whilst quite understated, they have the finer details that warrant attention. Beautiful tailoring, metallic detailing, gorgeous buttons and hidden seams. Whilst we see that the majority of Muscat are not familiar with spending on their wardrobes, Trussardi Oman offers very beautiful pieces, which will most definitely last. You have to consider jackets, handbags and quality suits as investments. If you purchase a good one, you won’t be re-hitching the hemlines after three wears.
We were certainly impressed, and delighted, that this option of ready-to-wear luxury is now available in the heart of Muscat, and will be back again soon to explore their Spring-Summer 2018 collection.
