The five-day Arab Fashion Week was officially declared open yesterday evening by the Arab Fashion Council in partnership with Sheikh Mohammed Maktoum Juma AlMaktoum Investment (MBM). The second of the bi-annual event this year takes place between November 15 and 19 ,2017 at City Walk, in partnership with Meraas. With the distinction of being the world’s only ready-couture and pre-collections fashion week, international and local designers will be presenting their collections for Spring/Summer 2018 and Pre-fall/Winter 2019.
Lebanese designer Saher Dia, acknowledged for his mastery of elegant and classic styles, opened the evening paying homage to femininity. Flowing and structured ensembles in dreamy pastels and jewel tones were at the centre stage of this Spring/Summer 2018 ready-couture collection.
The second Lebanese designer of the evening, Aiisha Ramadan presented a collection that was bold, glamorous and contemporary in design and form. From classic black and white to a signature galactic print, layered trails accentuated form-fitting creations.
The third designer of the evening was Louzan, the luxury abaya and sheila brand. Layered and flowing abayas in black, white, beige and grey were embellished with exquisite patterns and stones. The collection was a fusion of classic and contemporary styles that were sophisticated and glamorous.
The evening ended with Amato Couture, showcasing the creative director Furne One’s passion for intriguing, innovative and inspiring fashion. The ultra-chic collection celebrated the masterful use of fabric, form and detailing, creating exquisite red carpet statement pieces for Spring/Summer 2018.
