As I stepped into the luxurious realm of Puente Romano Beach Resort, I couldn’t help but feel transported back in time to its origins in 1979. The ambiance exuded a timeless charm, with its Creative Andalucian-village design and lush subtropical gardens painting a picturesque scene.
Nestled along Marbella’s Golden Mile, with the majestic Sierra Blanca mountains as its backdrop, the resort offered a gateway to both relaxation and adventure. From leisurely strolls along the palm-dotted promenade to cycling excursions courtesy of the hotel’s bikes, every moment promised exploration and discovery.
The heart of the resort, La Plaza, beckoned with its vibrant energy, centered around the ancient first-century Roman bridge that gave Puente Romano its name. Here, amid lively bars and restaurants, the essence of Andalusian village life mingled with modern sophistication.
As I wandered through the sprawling grounds, I marveled at the thoughtful design that ensured privacy without sacrificing the sense of community. Low-rise huddles of rooms, each named after Andalusian towns, dotted the landscape, inviting guests to immerse themselves in the resort’s tranquil atmosphere.
The array of amenities was nothing short of impressive – from the rejuvenating Six Senses spa to the world-class tennis club frequented by the likes of Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray. For those seeking culinary delights, the diverse selection of restaurants, including the acclaimed Nobu and newly-opened toast of the town, GAIA, promises a culinary journey to remember.
But perhaps the highlight of my stay was the intimate sanctuary of the Six Senses spa. With skilled therapists and panoramic views of the sea, it offered a haven of relaxation and rejuvenation. And the state-of-the-art gym, complete with a boxing ring and personal training, ensured that wellness was always within reach.
As I retired to my light-washed suite, overlooking the serene gardens or the sparkling sea, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the opportunity to experience the magic of this destination. With its seamless blend of tradition and innovation, it was truly a place where all of your senses come to life.
