Grand Millennium Muscat is bringing one of the world’s finest cuisines to Muscat in a week-long festival full of authentic Persian experiences and refined delicacies. From 18th-24th October, the Iranian food festival will encompass the rich and diverse food culture of Iran while offering a glimpse into dining traditions.
Guests will have an opportunity to explore the country’s unique palate that comprises exotic dishes from the best corners of Iran. Influenced by ancient Greece, the Mediterranean and the Turks, the Persian kitchen serves a burst of flavours borrowed from different historical periods, offering an array of traditional dishes full of fragrant rice, stews and fire-kissed kebabs, bathed with distinctive ingredients such as coriander, saffron, yoghurt, and nuts.
Some of the items included on the festival’s menu: salad borane bademjan, a blend of mashed eggplant and labneh; the yoghurt-and-shallot starter salad masto mosir; soupe morgh, chicken breast cooked in brine waters with a mix of garden-fresh vegetables; esfenaj sorkhkardeh for loves of fried spinach; a saffron rice-based delicacy baghali polo ba jojeh served with chicken; and a treat for fervent seafood enthusiasts khorak meygoo, which is made with shrimps, tomato paste, infused with hints of ginger and coriander. Lovers of charred meats can rejoice at the festival, as famous Persian kababs will be on offer. Items such as succulent kebab kubideh, skewered ground lamb popular on the streets of Iran, savoured with tandoor-baked Iranian flatbreads.
Contentment and gratification for eating good food are prominent characteristics of the Iranian culture and Grand Millennium’s Tales of Persia promises all of the above and much more.
