Auric Air is one of Africa’s leading safari airline. I had the opportunity to experience such scenic flights, while at the co-pilot’s seat, I asked Auric Air’s co-founder Mr. Nurmohamed Hussein, and his team, a few questions.
1) What is your favorite Auric Air memory?
We make memories everyday. Every time we see our customers boarding and disembarking from our aircraft with glee and happiness written all over their faces. This for me is an everyday favorite. Truly rewarding.
2) Describe Auric Air, as a brand, in 3 words.
Safety, Integrity, Commitment.
3) What made you decide to be in the Aviation Industry?
The goal was to become a Commercial Pilot.
I completed my Private Pilot License Course in South Africa at Cape Flying Services in George – Garden Route. Shortly after that, I Purchased a PA28-180 Single Engine Pilot-powered aircraft and flew it up North to Tanzania. The intention was to build hours (flying experience) for my Commercial Pilot License, and sell the aircraft once sufficient hours have been achieved. My family and friends contributed to the fuel, and to keeping the aircraft in good condition in exchange of experience flights. Gradually, as most things one is good at, it evolved into a business.
4) Tell us about the routes of Auric Air, and what are the plans for the near future? Any new routes coming up soon?

There’s definitely lots to see and do!
Mount Kilimanjaro for instance, for those who dare, it is after all the highest peak in Africa. Then there’s The Serengeti, home of the Great Migration. &Beyond has stunning properties and camps all over the Serengeti, a must experience.
We have NGORONGORO Crater, AKA the cradle of life. There’s Zanzibar Island – Culture and pristine-white beach that’s home to thousands of dolphins.
6) What’s your favorite destination from the Auric Air routes?
Definitely Zanzibar! Most picturesque flight, ever.
7) What makes Auric Air a cut above the rest?
Our commitment to passenger’s safety and comfort.
The only company in East Africa that operates the youngest fleet of Cessna Grand Caravan C208B
Each aircraft is fitted with every available option that enhances safety and reduces pilot workload.
*Flying with Auric Air to the Serengeti has been nothing less than spectacular. We look forward to flying with them again soon to explore more of Africa.
Very best,
Mr. Raven
