Indie eyewear brand, Smoke x Mirrors launched its second capsule collection, GEO, in February 2017. The six-piece collection features featherweight frames, constructed of durable hand-finished stainless steel and cellulose acetates, with geometric angles and flat lenses. These minimalistic designs are rooted in an innovative and technical approach to new-era craftsmanship, where the styles moves from curvy and smooth to dramatic and sharp, yet still architectural in nature.
“The collection was born out of a desire to really push the technical level with an acute emphasis on the metal work and by playing with unconventional material combinations,” says Roi Ironi, Co-Founder of Smoke x Mirrors. “Stylistically, the designs emerged from an infatuation with the futuristic and grandiloquent spirit of glam rock that manifested itself in the geometric shape, color, and metal choices.”
The GEO campaign features a diverse mix of young up & coming New York-based entrepreneurs and creatives including, Buddy, Pharrell’s protégé and hip-hop star with Compton roots, digital influencer Olivia Perez, artist Lux Milk, and photographer Allison Brooks. Shot by notable fashion photographer, Ben Rayner, each face is highlighted by boldly colored geometric borders that honor the spirit of the glasses in an understated yet striking statement. A new expression of fantasy and future come together to give birth to a playful yet sophisticated new collection.
The GEO collection retails for $350 and is available at top retailers and specialty boutiques including Barneys New York, NeimanMarcus.com, Five Story New York, Maxfield Los Angeles, and SmokexMirrors.com.
