Carefully selected and exceptionally pure, this natural water is sourced from a cave in Kamaishi, Japan, where it has been filtered over decades through layers of rock, creating a refined foundation that supports the skin with clarity and balance.
The Fermented Booster: A Study in Skin Preparation
At the heart of the launch lies the Fermented Booster series – an ode to the centuries-old Japanese practice of fermentation, reimagined for contemporary routines. Infused with rice bran ferment filtrate sourced from Yamagata Prefecture, the formula is designed as the first gesture in a ritual: a preparatory step that softens, hydrates, and primes the skin for what follows.
Available in both a rich essence and a featherlight pre-lotion, the textures are deliberately nuanced, absorbing seamlessly while leaving the complexion supple and receptive.
Fragrance-free and alcohol-free, the formulations are crafted with sensitivity in mind – an essential consideration for skin navigating the region’s intense summer climate.
MUJI’s pre-lotion, a wipe-off toner, is formulated with 100% naturally derived ingredients*. Enriched with lactic acid, it gently exfoliates to remove dirt and excess sebum from the pores, while moisturizing eucalyptus leaf extract leaves the skin feeling smooth, refreshed, and visibly more translucent.
Sensitive Skincare: Calm, Restored
Balancing the collection is the Sensitive Skincare series, a refined edit of products created for skin that demands a gentler approach. Composed entirely of naturally derived ingredients, each formula works to restore equilibrium while reinforcing the skin’s natural defenses.
Ceramides and a blend of five amino acids form the backbone of the range, strengthening the barrier function, while botanical extracts – most notably eucalyptus leaf, grapefruit and purslanes – lend a calming, almost therapeutic quality.
