In this very special concert, two of the Arab World’s greatest artists, Saudi singer and composer, Abadi Al Johar and Yemeni singer and composer, Ahmed Fathi share the stage in an exciting jalsa arabiah or informal jam session. Together they create an exciting dialogue, performing and improvising on the oud with some of their famous compositions and songs.
Al Johar’s most celebrated song is Twelah Ya Duroub al Ashikin, which he wrote for the renowned Saudi musician, Talal Maddah in 1987. Al Johar has composed songs for other leading artists such as Najat Al Saghira and Samira Said.
The acclaimed Yemeni musician, singer and composer, Ahmed Fathi began his rise to fame soon after completing a master’s degree at the Institute of Arab Music in 1998. He is especially admired for his creativity and brilliance in playing the oud. An Yahremuna, one of Ahmed Fathi’s greatest songs, became exceptionally popular and was made more so by his daughter, the star singer Balqees.
