This spring, Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort invites guests to ascend to the Saiq Plateau and witness one of Oman’s most enchanting natural events. From mid-March to end of April, the green terraces of Al Jabal Al Akhdar will blush in hues of pink, as thousands of damask rose bushes unfurl their petals beneath the sun, infusing the mountain air with a delicate, intoxicating fragrance.
Guests can experience this fleeting spectacle on a curated Rose Tour, led by a Mountain Insider from the local community. Running from 22 March through mid-April, the journey takes guests through ancient terraced valleys where villagers gather rose petals in the early morning mist. Along the way, guests stop at a traditional distillery where rose water is still produced using ancestral methods. This immersive encounter is available for 2–4 people per booking, priced at OMR 55 for two persons and OMR 30 for an additional guest.
Guests can savour the season’s floral bounty with a Rose Inspired Set Menu at Bella Vista. The three-course experience begins with dishes such as black lemon cured trout with rose infused crème fraîche, or pickled beetroot accompanied by rose petal jam. Mains include rose coated jumbo shrimps with glazed leeks and lavender arancini, or a mountain rose risotto with rhubarb slaw. The dessert finale is the rose symphony cheesecake, served with vanilla panna cotta, white chocolate crumble and rose micro sponge. The set menu is available for OMR 26.
Guests can enjoy a tranquil afternoon with the Rose Afternoon Tea, served either in the garden or overlooking the canyon’s dramatic cliffs. This floral-inspired offering includes delicacies such as salmon rose roulade, chicken croquette with pomegranate and rose sauce, and a selection of sweets like the roseberry tart and classic scones with homemade rose jam.
At Anantara Spa, guests can indulge in a revitalising wellness experience with the Rose Rescue Ritual. This 90-minute journey begins with a welcome drink and a milk and rose petal foot cleansing ritual. It continues with a hydration facial enhanced by a rose and coconut oil scalp massage, followed by a deeply soothing stress release massage. The ritual concludes with light refreshments, leaving guests balanced, nurtured and reconnected.
