For a sophisticated yet understated date night in Dubai, Fouquet’s in Downtown offers the ideal balance of charm and refinement. Located in Burj Plaza, the brasserie exudes romantic elegance, combining a touch of Parisian allure with Dubai’s contemporary edge.
The interiors set a warm, intimate atmosphere, with subtle nods to classic French design. Outside, the top floor terrace provides a serene setting for dinner and drinks, offering front row views of the Dazzling Burj Khalifa that are both impressive and mesmerising.
Before entering Fouquet’s, you should know that every element of the menu has been thoughtfully curated by Michelin-starred chef Pierre Gagnaire, featuring French classics prepared with finesse. From perfectly cooked meats to light, flavorful desserts, the dishes are satisfying without being overly elaborate. In true French style, service is attentive yet discreet, letting the experience unfold naturally.
We started with a Wagyu Carpaccio, Burrata with Seasonal Tomatoes, and the most heavenly French baguette. Served warm with butter straight out of a Parisian kitchen, the combination was, as expected, divine. For those more adventurous, be sure not to miss the Escargots de Bourgogne, swimming in delectable garlic-butter, and ready to be dipped and absorbed with said baguette.
For mains, we opted for a Classic boeuf Bourguignon, the French beef stew made with red wine, mushrooms, pearl onions, and carrots, served with a delightful Pomme Puree (naturally where the ratio of butter to the potato is insanely in ones favour).
For something sweet, we opted for the classic Fouquet’s Millefeuille – served with delicate berries. The pastry artistry here is not to be missed. We also, indulged in the lightness of Fouquets’ Chocolate fondant, a depth of bitter chocolate, cooked to perfection.
