Tang Town, located in Dubai Mall Fountain Views, invites diners to experience an unparalleled journey into the heart of China’s culinary traditions. With its host of chefs with MICHELIN star backgrounds from prestigious restaurants in China such as Lei Garden, Chao Shang Chao and The Ritz-Carlton, Tang Town is dedicated to offering guests more than just a meal – it’s a cultural experience. The team at Tang Town focuses on authenticity and regional diversity, thereby offering a truly immersive dining experience, one that honours China’s rich heritage and culinary craft.
“We are not just about serving delicious food; we are promoting Chinese culture and traditions,” says Chef Billy Zeng, Tang Town’s executive chef. “Our dishes are deeply rooted in authenticity, with ingredients sourced directly from their regions of origin. We aim to transport our guests to China, giving them an experience that’s true to our heritage.”
Guests can enjoy personalised menus tailored to their preferences or regions of origin, ensuring a dining experience that honours the individual tastes and traditions of everyone at the table. Tang Town’s private dining options make this experience even more intimate, with six private dining rooms, each designed to accommodate different group sizes. The largest room, Changan, hosts 14-16 guests with a maximum capacity of 20, while Changle seats 10-12 guests with a maximum of 16. For smaller gatherings, Lanting and Lanlin Wei Yang cater to 6 guests, and Cengxi accommodates 8 guests, ensuring that every occasion is both private and personalised.
At Tang Town, dining is more than just about taste. There’s tableside service, where one of their signature dishes – Barbecued Wagyu Beef – which is marinated for four hours in a special char siu sauce infused with aged xianghuang from Chaoshan, is prepared right before guests. It is then served with pineapple and garnished with aged xianghuang, this dish offers a refreshing, palate-cleansing flavour. It is a signature creation by the chef, who blends Chaoshan elements into a classic recipe, making it truly original.
Guests can also enjoy live seafood selections from an in-house aquarium, with signature dishes like Abalone, Peking Duck, and Alaskan King Crab taking centre stage on a menu designed to impress. The Roasted Peking Duck is a perfect example of meticulous preparation, featuring carefully sourced, dry-aged ducks that undergo a special process of shaping, skin glazing, and air-drying before being roasted at high temperatures to achieve crispy skin and tender, rich meat. For seafood lovers, the Australian Lobster, fried to perfection with oats, fresh curry leaves, chilli, and butter, offers a crispy exterior and tender interior, finished with a twist of local UAE camel milk powder. This careful attention to technique and ingredients ensures an unforgettable dining experience at Tang Town.
