Discover Emirati Cuisine Reimagined with Chef Nader’s New Dishes and a Sensory Collaboration with Perfumer Dominique Moellhausen
Ana, an icon of Emirati culture and culinary innovation, held its grand relaunch on September 19th, 2024. Welcome to Ana, where the art of food, fragrance, and personal expression converge to create a one-of-a-kind sensory journey. With an entirely new menu by Research & Development Chef Nader ElSayed and a captivating collaboration with renowned perfumer Dominique Moellhausen, this event marked a bold new chapter for Ana.
The revamped Ana celebrates The Art of You — a dining experience that reflects individuality, community, and the rich heritage of the UAE. Ana, meaning “I” in Arabic, embodies the evolving identity of the Emirates, uniting the past and present through globally inspired Emirati cuisine.
The event took guests through an immersive experience that begins with the Perfume Archetype Session, where Dominique Moellhausen guides them through five distinct fragrance archetypes. Each fragrance was expertly paired with one of Chef Nader’s specially curated dishes, allowing guests to explore how scent and taste interact. This sensory journey offered guests the chance to discover how fragrance and food can evoke emotions and memories, culminating in the reveal of their personal fragrance archetype and its connection to Ana’s reimagined Emirati cuisine.

Perfume is intrinsically woven into Emirati culture through our traditions and rituals and part of the contemporary Ana experience. Our collaboration with Dominique and Chef Nader creates the opportunity to explore this more, and in doing so, understand more about ourselves,” says Mr. Mohammad Hilal, founder of Ana.
For the relaunch event, Ana partnered with Dominique Moellhausen, Perfumer and R&D Director at Moellhausen, to create an extraordinary perfume and food pairing experience. Known for her innovative and trendsetting fragrances, Dominique’s vision of individuality and diversity is the perfect complement to Ana’s ethos. Together, they created an immersive journey where scent and taste align to evoke memories, emotions, and a deeper connection to the UAE.
Following the perfume and food pairing session, Chef Nader presented a set luncheon, featuring dishes that further reflect the evolving Emirati identity through his innovative use of traditional ingredients. Each dish tells a story, mirroring the intricate and eclectic spirit of the UAE, making the Anaexperience both personal and unforgettable.
