COMO the Treasury hotel was awarded number one for Best Hotel in Australia and New Zealand at Conde Nast Traveler’s Readers Choice Awards 2016 & 2017. The stunning hotel was also voted number two for Best Hotel in the World, the only Australian hotel included in the Top 50 list. This is a few of the many awards Como The Treasury has won since opening its doors to the public and we were incredibly excited to experience the magic first-hand.
COMO The Treasury resides within Perth’s revitalized 19th-century State Buildings. Once housing the land titles office, the treasury, and the city’s first post office, the structure underwent a decade-long restoration by Kerry Hill Architects, returning the iconic complex to its former Victorian glory. Whilst the building itself, interiors and aesthetics lend themselves to every photo opportunity, the real emotive connection comes from the impeccable service and staff. You are made to feel truly at home, despite the proximity to many of the cities most iconic landmarks.
Dinner at Wildflower is not to be missed. This contemporary space on the hotel’s fourth floor is an experience in itself. Open for lunch and dinner, served against a backdrop of sweeping views over the Swan River, the contemporary dishes revolve around the indigenous ethos of six seasons with farmer and forager-driven menu. Head Chef Michael D’Adamo has created a menu of contemporary cuisine using the finest Western Australian produce. Prior booking is strongly recommended as this is a Perth hotspot for foodies and curious visitors alike.
Post is another amazing restaurant in COMO The Treasury, serving a contemporary take on classic Italian cuisine, with menu choices guided by seasonal ingredients. We really enjoyed our dining experience and had the most lovely surprise to discover that kids receive a complimentary dinner at Post while staying at the hotel. It’s the small things that leave a warm feeling, a comfort, throughout the stay.
As we were traveling with our little one Alissa, the hotel suggested we go for a picnic at Kings Park. It was one of the many highlights for our family, enjoying our sunny afternoon under the tree, with a decadent picnic prepared by the COMO Team, which we sampled while enjoying stunning views of Perth.
COMO hotels are famous for their wellness facilities, their stylish spa and a large indoor heated pool; Alissa really enjoyed swimming there before dinner which ensured for a deep slumber later that evening in the cosy, plush bedroom.
Having experienced other COMO hotels before, I knew we were in for a treat. COMO The Treasury is a unique and stunning property which makes you feel ‘special’. From the moment we walked in we were warmly greeted and well looked after throughout the entire stay. The atmosphere was serene despite being in the busy streets of Perth CBD and the culinary offering presents some of the best dishes Perth has to offer for all 3 of us.
