Team Oman Magazine was delighted to experience the Jotun x Rummana collaboration in the charming mountains of Jabal Al Akhdar. The magical experience took place in early September, just in time to celebrate the culturally significant harvest of Pomegranates. Cue, #DineWithDina and the enigmatic #MuniraAlZadjali.
Known colloquially as the ‘Queen of Pomegranates’, given her penchant for squeezing, cooking, topping and embellishing many-a-dish with the red jewels, Dina Macki joined forces with Jotun to spark a vibrant, multi-sensory burst of creativity at this one-off event.
Guests in attendance were encouraged to explore colour in its many disciplinary forms with live painting, pomegranate harvesting and of course, the culinary senses with delectable eats.
From the moment guests arrived at the pomegranate farm, the once-blank walls had been transformed into dynamic murals, including Jotun’s very own artist, Munira Al Zadjali, whose mesmerizing artwork captured the heritage and tradition of the pomegranate festival using special colours by Jotun – including the signature ‘Rummana’ red.
The wholly immersive experience included a special tour of the farm, pomegranate picking, and tasting of pomegranate juice, ice cream, and sweets. Lunch was curated by Dina Macki @dinewithdina, who served dishes including Tomato Tartare, Omani Mishkak, Eton Mess, and Muhammara Rosemary Hummus.
From painting ceramic pomegranate plates to creating mood boards, the day out was the most incredible celebration of nature & beauty through Jotun’s colourful lens.
