Within the next 10 days, over 12,000 runners of all ages will take their place on the start line for the Al Mouj Muscat Marathon. Oman’s biggest race returns with a two-day festival of running on 11-12 November, featuring a full marathon, half marathon, 10km run, 5km run and three Kids’ runs of 3km, 2km and 1km.
Runners from over 99 countries will be represented, led by a strong local contingent which will include official Al Mouj Muscat Marathon race ambassadors Ali Al Habsi, Oman’s legendary goalkeeper, and beloved broadcaster Ibtihal Al Zadjali.
Ali Al Ajmi, General Manager of Sabco Sports, organizers of the event, said, “We are now in the final days of preparations for Oman’s most iconic sporting event and the event is completely sold out. The enthusiasm with which runners of all ages have embraced the Al Mouj Muscat Marathon is inspiring and we know that so many have been training, attending the public training sessions, and pushing themselves to be in optimum condition for race day. The entire weekend is set to be a celebration of the community, of dedication and a fun display for the whole family at Al Mouj Muscat.”
Training sessions will be taking place every Friday morning until the race, starting at 8am at the ABQ Seeb International School. If you are looking to make gains in the final days, do not miss out on the opportunity to learn from the experts and train with your fellow competitors.
The Al Mouj Muscat Marathon offers a race for everybody with routes designed to offer a unique challenge at each distance. Finishers in all races will receive a commemorative medal to mark their achievement.
