The Lakes Club in Dubai has long been enjoyed by expats and locals alike for its sprawling green surroundings and Al Fresco dining allure. With the recent announcement of Reform Social & Grill’s weekly Family Brunch, promising ‘English’ gastro pub-style food, paired with excellent weather and exciting entertainment for the little ones, we were sure to be among the first to check it out.
It’s a lazy Saturday afternoon and the ‘new’ Dubai weekend has everyone searching for their new weekend lunch spots. Well, look no further than Reform Social & Grill. Offering all the summertime feels of an English country pub, parents can truly relax whilst their children enjoy arts and crafts, jewelry making, a large Lakeside play area, live magic shows and spacious green surrounds for fun in the sun (and shade, there’s also lots of shade).
The venue’s ‘Family Brunch’ event schedule includes live music by Oli and Kane, also known as The Kick, whilst you tuck into classic British brunch favourites paired with free-flowing fizz and summertime tipples. For some added giggles and free-spirited weekend fun, comedian and magician, Alistair Stevenson keeps both the adults and kids entertained with table-side magic.
On the menu there’s a choice of open-plan Ploughman’s (pictured) or meat platter (p), an insta-worthy main which includes your choice of Roast Belly (p), Asparagus & Lemon Risotto, Chicken Kiev, the famous Reform Burger, and the classic Fish & Chips (pictured).
Reform Social & Grill also offer a kids-approved menu with smaller portions of their favourite dishes. (Word of advice, the portions are fantastically generous and our little ones were very happy sharing our plates). The Fish and Chips? An absolute winner for the perfect summer garden British dish, never complete with out lashings of tartare sauce and homemade mushy peas; you can thank us later.
As always, save the best ’til last and finish up with an unlimited offering of British classics from the dessert bar with a separate ice-cream sundae station for the little ones to get creative with. We recommend the sticky toffee pudding with creme anglaise, however the carrot cake, date brownies and other items looked equally divine.
For now, guests can enjoy the endless outdoors and take in the best of the breezy months, however brunch will continue through summer inside Reform Social & Grill’s summer tent, beautifully air-conditioned and allowing nature to still be a part of your laidback Saturday lunch.
