Team Oman Magazine visited the much-loved upscale Japanese restaurant Takara, located at Oman’s longest serving hotel, the Intercontinental Muscat. With a distinct emphasis on providing a modern and welcoming atmosphere, the eatery boasts the best-of-the-best of Japanese cuisine, prepared lovingly by a team of expert Chefs.
The restaurant’s concept is steered toward modern-style Japanese dishes, utilizing the freshest market produce and prepared in front of your eyes (if you opt for the live Chef performance at your table).
Guests are encouraged to discuss their menus directly with the chefs, creating an interactive and bespoke dining experience; truly an exceptional and engaging offering like no other in Oman.
As you enter the restaurant, you can choose whether to be seated at the long Sushi counter where the stylish bar awaits; simply the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxing aperitif or a pre-dinner cocktail. The bar offers a range of spirits, wines and sakes carefully selected by the team, and signature cocktails that are specially crafted and available exclusively at Takara.
Alternative elaborate preparations are available and prepared from the main kitchen, as well as a stunning a-la-carte menu to choose from, showcasing a variety of Japanese appetisers to set menu selections.
Here are some of the delectable dishes we explored during our visit to Takara:
