Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara in Oman is delighted to announce that Mr. Mohammed Wazir has been appointed as the resort’s new General Manager. A veteran of the hospitality industry, Mr. Wazir commented on his new appointment, “It gives me immense pleasure to bring all that I have learned back to my home country. I understand fully what Salalah can offer to Anantara guests and I am thrilled that I can help them uncover this virgin territory for luxury travellers,” he continued. “It has always been my dream to return and now I have the knowledge from different countries, merging with my great love for both Salalah and Oman. I feel I am particularly suited to help guests uncover more about the surrounding area, given my intimate understanding of this place.”
Mr. Wazir brings more than 15 years of hospitality experience to the role, having held senior positions across several high-profile hotels in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. His hospitality experience began in London, U.K., with Millennium Hotels before he moved to Malta with the Corinthia Hotels brand. There, he undertook various roles, demonstrating his skill at every aspect of hotel operations. He spent a year in St. Petersburg, Russia, as a resident manager before management roles at an award-winning property in Tripoli, Libya. His journey with Anantara began almost five years ago in a unique island property in Qatar, before taking the hotel manager role at Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel, one of the brand’s flagship properties. He has truly travelled and understands both customer needs and what it takes to deliver to the highest standards.
Mr. Wazir’s parents lived in Muttrah, so it truly is a homecoming for him. His Omani and British roots make him the ideal candidate to lead the lavish Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara and position this property as the frontrunner in Oman’s luxury hotel market. He will focus on maintaining high standards of quality and service at the property and look into the various ways to enhance the guest experience. His passion will make each guest stay even more memorable.
