Online food aggregators are recording exponential growth in Oman and across the world leading to a significant impact on the food and beverage sector. Today, as people look for more convenient solutions for anything from full-course meals to mid-day snacks, they have come to rely on handy food apps.
With just a few clicks, they can discover new restaurants, order from menus, and receive live tracking updates of where their orders are. Online food aggregators have also contributed to an increase in revenue of restaurants, creating a vibrant tech-driven ecosystem that adds value to every stakeholder – from restaurant operator to the customer.
This is underpinned by the remarkable success achieved by home-grown restaurants that are not only finding new customers but also reporting brisk business through repeat orders. Highlighting the success of online food delivery is Cake Creations, which has recorded an impressive 117 per cent increase in orders in just six months.
Khulood Al Bakri, Owner and Founder of Cake Creations, said that online food ordering is rewriting the rules of the restaurant business, adding that since it joined Talabat in end-June this year, orders have increased over 140 per cent. “We opened doors in 2016 out of our passion for cooking. We have now grown our business, opening four branches in three years. Joining Talabat has further expanded our reach and catalysed our growth.”
Cake Creations owes its growth to the love and support from the family and the committed efforts the team led by Manager Ronaldo Alaan. “We see a record growth in the number of new customers, on an average of 56 per cent per month, as well as in new orders,” said Khulood. “Today, one-third of our general sales is generated via Talabat.”
Among the advantages that Talabat brings, Khulood says it not only cuts delivery costs but also gives more market exposure. “We have a dedicated Account Manager to handle our business at Talabat as well as access to a professional team for marketing our company.”
Covering 12 areas in Oman for Cake Creations, Talabat has increased order value through Instagram posts, push notifications, premium placement and GEM offers, said Khulood. “We see online food delivery as the future of the restaurant business.”
