Taking inspiration from a Mandoos or wooden chest, Bthaina’s collection ‘Zaman Al Mandoos’ references the delicate, brass nail patterns that decorate the antique boxes. Previously used by families in Oman to hold their precious possessions, a Mandoos was crafted from hardwood and is now considered a symbol of tradition and heritage. Combining past and present, Bthaina’s ‘Zaman Al Mandoos’ collection boasts vibrant tones, fluid styles and exquisite hand embroidery.
Lightweight fabrics create fluid movement in georgette, silk and chinnon highlighted in majestic shades of stone, amber and lapis. Silhouettes are soft and flowy featuring capes and fluted sleeves while origami pleating and color-blocked panels add a modern touch. Gold, silver and white thread is intricately hand-embroidered into antique patterns while glittering sequins recreate the brass nail patterns of the Mandoos.
Blending intricate details with versatile styles, the ‘Zaman Al Mandoos’ collection evokes elegant femininity with regal splendour.
