This Khareef season, Visitors to Salalah will be able to see the green city from the sky for the first time.
Salalah is set to introduce a unique festival for its visitors during the Khareef season: The Balloon Carnival, a one-of-a-kind experience in Oman and the Middle East.
Organised by Sabeen and Hemity along with Dhofar Municipality, the Office of Dhofar’s Governor and Public Authority for Civil Aviation, the carnival will be held at Ain Sahnout, the carnival will host 15 hot air balloons that will fly across the city, allowing visitors to indulge in Salalah’s beauty, which promises views of magical landscapes and picturesque waterfalls.
The carnival aims at empowering tourism in Oman by introducing new experiences and embodying the highest standards internationally, as well as enriching the diversity of tourism attractions and activations during the Khareef season in Dhofar. With its attractive offering, the carnival is expecting 650,000 to one million visitors between 20 July and 25 August 2019.
The carnival will host a variety of family-friendly activities that elevate the Khareef experience; there will be activations and play areas dedicated to children, a car-racing rink for lovers of adrenaline, film screenings by Lunar Cinema for movie buffs, musical concerts and performances, and 65 dining experiences from local and international outlets.
The event will also feature innovative laser shows as part of the balloons experience, as well as a hologram show and a carnival mall for the shopaholics.
The Balloon’s carnival is set to be the biggest event in Oman, and we cannot wait for both locals and tourists to experience it.
