Team Oman Magazine recently experienced the newly opened Sombrero Restaurant in Qurum and what a feast it was! Described as Mexican fast food, the eatery serves up South American specialities with a more accessible, international twist. Tucked on the top floor of a Mediterranean villa, the space offers cosy pockets of dining tables, where guests are invited to wear their very own Sombrero hat; what could be more fun than that?
Having tired of the usual Tex-Mex scene and over-loaded plates of gooey cheese, we breathed a sigh of relief when the freshly made horchata punch arrived, paired with a tasting trio of freshly prepared Mexican bites. Despite the self-proclaimed label of fast-food, quality is clearly a priority for Team Sombrero. Fast food? yes, but not the type that leaves you with a stomach ache. Sombrero offers utterly fresh dishes, all made with wholesome, real ingredients.
For a yummy but guilt-free indulgence, the menu presented can surely satisfy any craving; this is real soul food and comes served with playful wit. The team on-hand ensure attentive service and a healthy serving of zesty fun. This is all about enjoying yourself with friends and family, paired with really good food.
For Team Oman Magazine, Sombrero offered a taste of Mexico with good-old-fashioned-fun. No gimmicks needed (except the Sombrero hat) because the food spoke for itself. Oh, and don’t forget the dancing glasses that wiggle around but never fall down.
In Mexico, they say ‘A darle que es mole de olla’ which means to work on something with energy and enthusiasm. Here, in the heart of Muscat, you can find just that at Sombrero.
Until the next time…
