From Parisian style live entertainment in The Grand Lounge, to secret candle-lit dinners on the ship’s bow – the Queen Elizabeth 2 in Dubai is offering passengers a once-in-a-lifetime romantic adventure on board.
The QUE2 will be offering three unparalleled experiences aboard the ship on Valentine’s Day, promising a night to remember.
In their ‘Heart of the Ocean’ experience, couples are led behind the scenes through the ship’s passageways and out to the bow of the ship – the forward most part of the vessel, where they are welcomed to a stunning candle-lit table setting and an ice cold bottle of bubbly. Live classical music serenades the couple as they enjoy a delectable five-course meal. A butler is discreetly on hand to ensure that the entire evening is magical.
Couples will have their photograph taken on the part of the ship made famous by Kate Winslet’s ‘flying’ scene in Hollywood blockbuster, Titanic and a picture presented to them at the end of the evening. After the meal, they will spend the night in a Superior Room followed by breakfast the following morning.
The experience is limited to only 12 reservations and will be booked on a first-come-first-serve basis.
‘An Evening in Paris’ is another experience to enjoy aboard the ship. Passengers will be transported to the most romantic city in the world with an unforgettable evening of opera at the QE2 Supper Club in the Grand Lounge.
Couples will enjoy a five-course dinner, welcome bubbles and free-flowing beverages, whilst a line up of performances transport them to the cobbled streets of Paris. Acts include a unique opera series, the QE2 Orchestra and a magnificent dance troupe.
For ‘Royal Romance In The Queens Grill’, couples will rediscover the food of love with a regal dining experience in a venue that was once frequented by royalty.
A selection of five traditional British dishes will be prepared using the latest in culinary gastronomy – starting with Roasted Quail or Pan Seared Scallops, followed by Sous Vide 140 Day Aged Black Angus Beef Fillet or Cider-cured Sea Trout. The meal is finished with Passionfruit and Raspberry Cheesecake or Dark Chocolate Brownie with Hazelnut Cremeux.
The alluring illumination from the candlelight combined with the ambient sounds of live classical music sets the scene for a passionate love story on board this legendary ocean liner.
A Brief History
On September 20 1967, Queen Elizabeth named the QE2 after her mother in the company of Prince Phillip and 30,000 spectators arrived at John Brown’s shipyard on Clydebank in Scotland. On 2 May 1969, she made her maiden transatlantic voyage.
In her lifetime, the QE2 would complete 1,400 voyages, sail some 6 million nautical miles and play gracious host to almost 2.5 million passengers. She would complete 25 tours around the world and, after 39 years, retiring in 2008 to join Dubai as a prized and prestigious attraction.
