The modern urban resort Kempinski Hotel Muscat announced that it will be the Official Hotel for the upcoming 2019 Oman Open, European Tour golf tournament, and will be hosting the International Golfers taking part in the tournament. The tournament kick starts on February 28, 2019 at Al Mouj Golf in Muscat.
“It is an honour to support such a prestigious tournament in the 2019 Oman Open”, says Carsten Wiegandt, General Manager of the Kempinski Hotel Muscat. “This international event will further elevate the Sultanate’s image and popularity as a must-visit tourist destination and a hub for golfers both in the region and globally.”
The tournament this year will feature a star-studded line-up that includes defending champion Joost Luiten, Ryder Cup star Chris Wood and Austrian golfing hero Bernd Wiesberger amongst the field of 144 players competing for a prize fund of $1.75 million making this event one of the most professional sporting occasions of the year in the Sultanate.

The exposure our country received through the international TV broadcast reached the right target groups of potential tourists and potential investors for the Sultanate” adds His Excellency Dr Mohammed bin Hamad Al Rumhy, Oman’s Minister of Oil and Gas. “We believe the Oman Open 2019, under the organization of Oman Golf Committee, will fully be focused on promoting the country and further strengthening the message internationally, that Oman is a beautiful destination for tourists and an attractive destination for investors.”
