A new picnic-themed brunch has entered the brunches scene in Oman and is surely going make you fall in love with it.
Happening every Friday afternoon at Sheraton’s garden, the brunch offers a salubrious menu that contrasts the typical, extravagant brunches in town, making it a very refreshing stop for the whole family.
As we walked into this place, we were a bit worried about the heat as it was still mid-day, but we were rather surprised by the pleasant breeze that complimented the picnic ambience. The place is bedded with a lawn, mats and huge pillows, along with a very comfortable table setting perfect brunching session.
Just like a casual picnic, you get to grab a basket and pick and choose your favourite food from a wide selection of live cooking stations and racks that include succulently grilled proteins and colourful salad jars
The green jars were absolutely delicious, especially the beetroot and honey melon, which was a double treat in our basket. Then we added a selection of simple sandwiches laced with jute, cheese strings, and grilled meats, sandwiched on gourmet bread.
For barbecue lovers, the smokehouse is a must-visit. The station offers braised beef brisket, lamb chops, beef knuckle, roasted chicken, seekh kebabs (skewered meat) and baked potatoes. A haven for lovers of all-things grilled.
After the BBQ stop, we headed to the wings station, where we savoured mustard deep fried chicken wings. The chicken is so delicious it requires no additional sauce (recommended by the chef himself).
Other excellent corners for you to try is the seafood station, which offers a selection of oysters, scallops, lobsters and salmon, as well as the beautifully set up desserts section that has interesting flavours of mini-sized cake bites including black forest and soufflé. The lemon saffron soufflé is a perfect way to end the brunch; it was heavenly good.
With Everyone dressed in their best casual smart ensembles, the vibe is unbeatable, making it a great place to be on a Friday afternoon. If you fancy a relaxed kind of a brunch, out in the open, with a five-star service and quality food, then this is for you.
