A wild and remote experience in the midst of ample resident game, it is ideally situated on the banks of a tributary of the Grumeti River and enjoys a prime position near one of the most famous fording points of the wildebeest migration.
&Beyond Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp is a lavish, well-designed permanent camp where you can see an abundance of wildlife right from your bedroom’s balcony. While having breakfast, I saw hippos playfully display their affection toward their calves.
There’s a dreamy in-camp pool overlooking the river where herds of hippos actually stay. So after a swim, right before lunch, we saw a crocodile in the water, creeping towards a deer that was drinking from the river. It was amazing! Things you wouldn’t see in other camps.
&Beyond camps are all very different from one other, this one I have to say, is the most exciting. You don’t have to wait for the game drive to see something out of the ordinary, the camp itself is the experience.
The staff are impeccable, they anticipate what you may need and give it to you before you even ask for it. They think of absolutely everything. Trust me. I am beyond grateful. The overwhelming surprises they have up their sleeves, you can’t even begin to imagine how much fun you’ll have here. It’s invigorating. The memories you’ll be making at Grumeti will fuel you for a lifetime.
There is an atmosphere of hedonism and serenity inside the camp, one will instantly feel upon arrival.
The lions with their cubs are everywhere in Grumeti, they greeted us with their presence not far from the camp, and actually sent us off as we were leaving. Oh and of course, the cheeky monkeys! I will never forget seeing hundreds of monkeys moving as one, like a migration almost, yes, a monkey migration.
Steve, our ranger, animal expert, and newfound friend – just the best ranger anyone could ask for. He makes things happen and will find the most creative ways to make sure you are having the safari experience of a lifetime.
Another thing I’d like to highlight is the exclusivity of the game drives and viewings, with very few other vehicles encountered.
Hands down, BEYOND 5 stars!
From the butler, the chef, to the management team, absolutely synchronized, like an orchestra of butterflies every morning outside your bedroom. You can’t help but feel sad when you leave. Leaving Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp was the hardest thing to do.
I will always cherish this very special experience. It is, without a doubt, one of Africa’s best kept secrets.
Very best,
Mr. Raven
