‘Comfort, convenience and modern elegance’ are all promised at Sundus Rotana, the latest addition to Muscat’s business hotel scene. Its prominent location make it a mere stone’s throw away from the Muscat International Airport. It’s certainly convenient.
With Oman’s ever-growing portfolio of properties eager to welcome the international-traveller and business clientele, how has Sundus Rotana positioned itself to stand out?
Upon arriving to the property, you can see the manicured simplicity of a well-organised business hotel. Fast check-in, ease of access, impeccable cleanliness and unobtrusive interior design. Statements made yes, but busy artistry? Certainly not.
Ideal for corporate and leisure travellers visiting the Sultanate’s busy capital, the property is close to the city’s major landmarks, attractions and commercial districts. All 215 rooms and suites are designed to maximise guest comfort with many options available to suit individual needs, from Classic Rooms with mountain views to versatile suites. The Club Rotana rooms offer discerning guests several added benefits, from personalised services to executive lounge access.
We were welcomed to stay in one of the suites where fresh fruit platters, personalised delicacies and pink lemonade anticipated our arrival. From the plush robes and newly fluffed towels, the Sundus Rotana had all of the freshness of a brand-new, beaming hotel.
From a food and beverage perspective, Sundus Rotana offers three alternative dining experiences; Ginger, an all-day dining restaurant, offering a range of international delicacies, Teatro, where East meets West serving sophisticated fusion cuisine, and the Lobby Lounge, where tea, coffee and light bites await. Regrettably, our visit was all-too-brief and therefore we were unable to sample the evening cuisine, however from a decor and hospitality perspective, the staff at breakfast were attentive, focused and friendly.
This month, January, marks the launch of Teatro, a restaurant famed for its steaks and grills. Having frequented this many times in Dubai, Teatro has become synonymous with quality cuts and great service, being voted no. 1 in Dubai’s ever-competitive foodie-scene on Tripadvisor.
We shall certainly be returning to Sundus Rotana and would highly recommend it for stopovers, business travel or even leisure guests looking for quality accommodation with competitive rates.
