Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa will host World Sushi Champion Chef Pepi Anevski
atBait Al Bahr from 8 – 12 November as a visiting chef. Chef Pepi’s sushi and sashimi creations will be available at Bait Al Bahr every evening during dinner service at Bait Al Bahr from Wednesday 8 November until Sunday 12 November with a curated menu by the chef just for the occasion.
On Saturday 11 November, Chef Pepi will wow guests at Bait Al Bahr’s Saturday Seafood Brunch from a pop-up sushi station with his creative sushi and sashimi art.
Originally from Macedonia, but now based in Denmark, Chef Pepi has received many awards and even came first place at the World Sushi Cup 2013 in Tokyo. He studied classic Japanese sushi education in Chiba, Japan and is accredited as a Sushi Head Chef by AJSA (All Japan Sushi Association) and the World Sushi Skills Institute.
Currently working as Executive Sushi Manager Attic Salt Group, previously head of Head of Sushi International where he created and developed menus for over 200 restaurants across the globe. Previously he worked in renowned Japanese restaurants Umami, Ebisu and Etika.
Chef Pepi said: “What I bring to the table is a solid understanding of cultural differences, a strong track record of working cross functional and understanding of the whole value chain from raw product to the customer’s plate”.
Located at Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa, just 20 minutes from the centre of Muscat, Bait Al Bahr overlooks 500 metres of sandy beach and is nestled against the dramatic backdrop of rugged mountains.
