For Spring/Summer 2018, Baruni captures a youthful, feminine aesthetic through pastel tones, contemporary styles and whimsical details. The collection, titled Dancing on the Water, is inspired by the flamingo, a pensive yet feminine bird, beautiful in color and graceful in demeanour.
Silhouettes range from oversized baby doll dresses to mini skirts and elegant kaftans. Structured cuffs and collars contrast feminine ruffles while feathers evoke a playful sensibility. Pleats are incorporated on tops, skirts and dresses, representing the flamingo wings and the sporty element of Baruni.
The color palette, inspired by the pink and blue flamingo, is awash with hues of pastel pink, peach, powder blue, and royal blue with touches of white and charcoal. Dancing flamingo herds are referenced in the feather print while lightweight fabrics create fluidity and comfort. Feminine and modern, Baruni’s SS18 collection embodies relaxed elegance with a captivating spirit.
