LAVAL’s Executive Chef Omar El Rhoul launches a newly adapted menu with influences from Asia, Arabia & The Mediterranean. With mouthwatering fusion combinations, it’s a must visit for those looking for a sophisticated supper with atmospheric views of La Valle; ‘The Valley’ …LAVAL Restaurant Lounge features both indoor and outdoor dining and unwinding areas with sprawling views of the green golf course and surrounding mountains. The restaurant occupies two levels – the main dining space and rooftop lounge.
Located in a valley, its name was inspired by the Latin word for the same “La Valle”, which was shortened to create a palindrome – meaning it is spelled the same way forward and backward.
Oman Magazine had the pleasure of attending a preview tasting supper, to sample the very best of the due-to-launch menu. Here are some of our personal favourites:
Seafood Pastilla – This mild palate-pleaser comes packed full of calamari, fish hammour and shrimps in a soft spicy marinade. Encased within a light pastry shell. Extremely light yet incredibly flavourful.
Chef’s Signature Mixed Berry Tiramisu-Kunafa – Not only was this aesthetically-beautiful, but it tasted delicious also. The base of ‘kunafa’ pastry resembled a small birds nest, with the cheesecake-tiramisu delicately placed on top. With it’s wild berry compote and white chocolate finish, it certainly added the ‘wow’ factor to the end of the meal.
Shuwa Spring Rolls with Tamarind Dipping Sauce – This dish is not featured on the new ‘Tasting Menu’ however, it stands as a firm favourite of Laval-diners. This fusion dish perfectly marries Oman cuisine with the Orient. Succulent Shuwa strips wrapped tightly in a Chinese light pastry, gently fried for that crisp, juicy finish. It’s probably one of the best combinations we have ever tried!
